"Thank you very much for making a life-saving product that worked when my wife and mother-in-law needed it most," said Stefan Buckman in a recent email. Buckman's mother-in-law, despite her heart condition, intervened in a carjacking using her industry-leading SABRE pepper spray.
On June 13, Buckman's mother-in-law Metts saved the day when a man was reportedly carjacking an elderly woman in the Walmart parking lot in Murietta, CA. She approached the man, held his car door open as he was trying to flee, and doused him in SABRE 3-IN-1.
After being sprayed, the man - no match for Metts - ripped the door handle off when trying to pull it closed. He eventually decided to drive off with the door open and crashed into something while exiting the parking lot. We can only assume that the crash was caused by vision impairment.
“Since the incident, Metts has been less worried about her health than getting a new bottle of defensive spray,” reported The Press Enterprise.
“You know those belts they wore in the old west with all the bullets in them? I want one of those but full of (pepper spray),” says Metts. While SABRE doesn’t make duty belts for pepper spray, we did send Metts some new products for her and her daughter.
