Workplace safety has historically been focused on safe working conditions or even coworker harassment, but little research has been done to gauge the risk of assault or attack that women face on their commutes to, and at the workplace.
As the experts in personal safety, we conducted a survey to gain insights to how more than 1,000 working women view their personal safety at work. With women now making up more than half of the work force, it is essential that they feel comfortable and confident stepping into work each day.
The results show more than half of working women feel concerned about risk of assault or attack during work hours and a staggering 43% of women have been threatened or assaulted at work, or know a female co-worker that has been.
